Just imagine that there's a power failure (and you never ordered a battery backup for your docking station) and assume something is wrong with your network because your PC can't connect to the network causing a massive amount of unnecessary work for my department all because you failed to check that the lights aren't switched on. Enjoy that seat close to the window while you still have it.
Even my cuppochino machine runs on generator power now..
